California Department of Health. Parkinson’s Disease Registry

California Health and Safety Code (HSC) 103860-103870 requires healthcare providers diagnosing or providing treatment to Parkinson’s disease patients to report each case of Parkinson’s disease to CDPH. Per recent legislation with CA SB97, beginning July 1, 2018, a hospital, facility, physician and surgeon, or other health care provider diagnosing or providing treatment to Parkinson’s disease patients must report each case of Parkinson’s disease to the department, as prescribed. The CPDR will be a statewide population based registry that will be used to measure the incidence and prevalence of Parkinson’s disease.

The Parkinsons Association of Orange County

The Parkinsons Association of Orange County  has been working for the Parkinson’s Community for nearly 20 years. Originally,  PAOC began as a local chapter of the National Parkinson Foundation. Currently, the Parkinsons Association of Orange County is an independent regional organization, serving all Orange County, California. POAC is a Non-Profit Public Charity 501(C) (3). 

The Parkinson’s & Movement Disorder Foundation

PMDF was founded in 1998 in Orange County, California. Our mission is to support basic and clinical research into the causes and treatments for Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders such as dystonia, myoclonus, spasticity, and tremor which will ultimately help find a cure.

Parkinson’s Community Los Angeles

The mission of Parkinson’s Community Los Angeles is to improve quality of life for people living with Parkinson’s disease throughout the greater Los Angeles area. Our goal is to connect individuals and families to the information, support, programs, and activities they need to enhance wellness and live an active, engaged life. PCLA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Parkinson’s Foundation California

Parkinson’s Foundation California makes life better for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) by improving care and advancing research towards a cure. We provide education, resources and programs throughout the states of California and Hawaii. Whether you are newly diagnosed with PD or have been managing it for years, a care partner, family member or friend of someone with PD, we are here to help you.

California Chapter | American Parkinson Disease Association

The American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) works tirelessly to help the approximately one million people with Parkinson’s in the United States live life to the fullest in the face of this chronic, neurological disorder. Founded in 1961, APDA has raised and invested more than $185 million to provide outstanding patient services and educational programs, elevate public awareness about the disease, and support research designed to unlock the mysteries of PD and ultimately put an end to this disease.

Parkinson's Resource Organization

Parkinson’s Resource Organization is dedicated to improving the quality of life for families and individuals affected by Parkinson’s disease by providing education, support, information, and referral services.
PRO is a non-profit charitable organization is based in Palm Desert, California.

Parkinson Association of Santa Barbara

The mission of PASB is to offer education, motivation, friendship, and support to people with Parkinson's and their caregivers, family members, and friends.  We strive to help people maintain a positive quality of life.

Central Coast Parkinson Association

The CCPA is a 501© (3) non-profit based in San Luis Obispo, CA and serving people with Parkinson Disease, their care partners, and local Parkinson’s focused health professionals on the Central Coast covering San Luis Obispo County and northern Santa Barbara County.  Our mission is four-fold:  to direct programs and activities for people with Parkinson's disease; to provide education programs for the public; to promote the exchange of information with health care professionals; and to encourage and support Parkinson research.


Parkinson's Patients Support Groups. Inc, of Northern & Central California

This organization is located in Sunnyvale, California and maintains a list of some fifty-five Parkinson's Support Groups with names and locations for each as well as a central calendar listing all events for all groups.

California Parkinson’s Support Network

There are many organizations involved in Parkinson's disease (PD) research, care, education, and support, all of whom share the goals of improving quality of life for patients and ultimately finding a cure for the disease.  CDPH provides people with Parkinson’s, their families and caregivers with a directory of U.S. and international Parkinson's organizations offering information, care, and support for the Parkinson's community.  CDPH provides information about disease symptoms, treatment options, complementary therapy providers (exercise, speech, occupational), support groups, research updates, and upcoming events and webinars. CDPH is located in Sunnyvale, CA.
